Upon receipt, aliquot and store the Human α2M Standard at -80ºC to avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Store all other components at 4ºC.
Our Human Alpha 2-Macroglobulin ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA for the detection of human alpha 2-macroglobulin in plasma, serum, lysates, and other biological fluids. Samples or standards are added to an anti-a2M antibody coated plate followed by the addition of a biotinylated anti-apoB-100 antibody. A streptavidin enzyme conjugate is then added for detection. The absorbance is read at 450nm and the level of a2M in samples is determined based on the provided human a2M standard curve.

Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
